When the new X-men lineup was announced I, of course, thought it was amazing and refreshing and about damn time. It wasn’t until a friend of mine brought the new team up again that the idea for another X-fashion developed. It really was a “duh” moment for me - they’re ripe for a fashion piece, and not just because they’re women but because they are some of THE biggest female names of the X-men. So I went for it. Wanted something a little more dynamic than X-fashions of the past. My main thought going in was more pants, less dresses and frippery. Of course there’s still bling and heels - you can’t take away all the fun - but I wanted fashion that was a bit more street, more real, a little more badass.
Rachel is grunge. Love her jacket, not so happy with her shirt.
Psylocke is NYC fashionista tomboy. Dip dyed hair (so trendy) and a butterfly print blouse.
I’m really happy with Kitty’s dragon t-shirt and bad ass heels. Had to get a shoe in there somewhere, people.
Storm is my 80s executive realness. Her earring is fashioned after the one Willi Ninja bought (he has the receipt) in Paris is Burning.
My southern belle is in a loud print and hose - she’s the only one in a dress. I wanted her in printed leggings but she was already such a patterned mess I decided against it.
And Jubes is just all over the place. Bikini and hot pants and a bedazzled jacket.
The original will be going up in the store as soon as tomorrow. Prints as well - in TWO sizes :) Hope you guys like it, let me know what you think!

Cowboy Bebop commission
Wanted to Wada-fy the characters a bit, stay true to their outfits but try to give them some more personality physically. It’s always fun translating anime faces into something a bit more realistic. Let me know what you think!

This was a commission of a very, very good friend of mine for his sweetheart, lover, girlfriend for their anniversary. This one requires a bit of backstory to make sense and it has a world of special meaning to the happy couple. My friend has trouble pronouncing his L’s within words. In fact, he would have a problem properly pronouncing the word ‘trouble.’ Other words like ‘noodle,’ ‘poodle,’ ‘paddle,’ etc, are issues for him. The song Werewolf by Fiona Apple was being sung by my friend and his girlfriend and every time he would have to say Werewolf it would come out ‘werewoof.’ Adorable, yes? His mispronunciation of this specific L sound has been a long running joke for not only the couple, but my entire friend group and has become something of group meme. He wanted to gift his girlfriend with something commemorating his lack of tongue dexterity (ew?) since it tickled her so (ew?). Enjoy!

Sidenote: I am no longer open to commissions for the time being. I am SWAMPED. Sorry if I’m taking awhile to respond to your emails and get our your prints. It’s been a storm since APE. Apologies and thank you for your patience!

Gotta catch ‘em all! Coming at you, second day in a row with one of my favorite pieces that debuted at APE. POKEMON! If Sailor Moon was third grade obsession, then Pokemon was the 6th grade. I won’t lie, never knew how to play the card game, but the show and the Gameboi versions were my childhood. I hope my immense love for the series shines through in this piece.
It’s a bit of a colorful mess, which I don’t mind, so you really have to search through the image to pick out the little monsters. I put most of my favorites. I wanted to give the characters a more realistic but still stylized kind of look. Of course some are harder to stylize than others, some are inherently easy. I struggled with this piece before I got it here, and I have to say I’m really happy with how it came out. I did the background separately and it features some larger Pokemon in a rougher style. Most of them ended up getting covered up but you can sort of see them peeking out through the foreground characters. I love getting feedback and tumblr isn’t really built for that, so feel free to reply to the pic or if you reblog, leave a little message with it - I do love those :P
Can you pick out all of the pocket monsters?
